Canoe trip on the river Avi 2017

April 30, 2017

Hello, my lovely readers!

This weekend we had the chance to go on a canoe trip! The Peipsi-Alutaguse society had prepared this awesome canoe/raft trip. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best so we managed to do 12k out of 19k but it was so cool! Joseph and I took the canoe, my parents were on a raft. There were minor problems like getting trapped by a tree or smashing into a rock but otherwise, it was a fun way to spend part of our long weekend. The river took us back to our village where we got to eat some soup and some cake. I was absolutely frozen once we finished the trip. It literally took me 15 minutes of warm shower and standing by the fire to heat me up. I can’t wait for next year and hopefully better weather to take part of this canoe trip.

You can check out the rest of the photos and videos from the event page on Facebook:

99 years since this country first saw freedom.

Happy birthday, dear Estonia!

99 years ago this country had the chance to become independent and it took it. Although we were occupied again and had to wait until we could gain independence the second time, we are independent right now to celebrate our 99th birthday. The last 4 years I have lived abroad and haven’t had a chance to celebrate Estonia’s birthday. But this year we celebrated with a walk through the forest and a lot of cake!

Also, we had the chance to listen to the speech by our new female president. What an example she is. She is an example to all little girls out there – you can do it! I feel like I would love to meet her and speak to her about her ideas and thoughts.

The night ended with looking at all the lovely dresses at the party and enjoying some Estonian films.

I am so lucky to come from a country like Estonia.

I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.

Hello lovely people!

I have been super busy lately but here is a small update! Last weekend I ran another 10k! I absolutely loved the event, instead of rushing through it, I kept on enjoying the view of the town of Tartu. I am so glad that I got to take part of it. One of my students, Rasmus was running at the kids’ races and did super well! Rasmus, Suusi and Saale were waiting for me at 9k to give me a boost and got some good photos of me! After the race, I had my alumni party at my secondary school. We had a small walk through Tartu to the car and then drove to Tallinn, my hometown. It was a blast. We chatted and partied away until 1.30 am and then headed ┬áhome with Uber. I adore Uber. The prices are so good. Sunday we had a relaxing day, went to my grandparents’ house for lunch and did some preparations for the Teachers’ day which is tomorrow! Also, it was Conference weekend and I love the talks! I will do a post about them at some point. And I will definitely post about Teachers’ day which is a big tradition here in Estonia. Here is my little photocollage of the weekend.
